The COMUNIDAD project is pleased to introduce Dr. Juan Rodrigo Sanz-Uribe, a leading expert from our partner institution in Colombia, CENICAFÉ.
Holding a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Sanz-Uribe leads Cenicafé’s postharvest discipline, bringing over 30 years of experience in developing sustainable and efficient technologies for coffee growers in Colombia. His expertise spans critical postharvest processes, including drying, fermentation, pulping, harvesting, and the management of coffee production byproducts. Dedicated to enhancing coffee quality while promoting environmentally responsible practices, he plays a pivotal role in driving innovation in the coffee industry.
On March 21–22, 2024, the COMUNIDAD consortium gathered in Madrid, Spain, for the project's official kick-off meeting. This milestone event brought together representatives from our eight project partners to set the course for the project's success, defining key action points and strategies for impactful collaboration. During the event, we captured valuable insights from each consortium member, offering their perspectives and role in the COMUNIDAD project.
