The COMUNIDAD project is pleased to introduce Ing. Michal Kepka, PhD, an expert from our partner institution, BOSC, and the Technical Manager of the COMUNIDAD project.
Michal Kepka is a distinguished specialist in geomatics and geographic information systems (GIS), with expertise in spatial data, data modelling, database development, and web-based mapping applications. He earned his Doctorate in Geomatics from the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech Republic, in 2018, and has since been involved in numerous international projects. His portfolio includes work on plan4business, SDI4Apps, DataBio, AFarCloud, FATIMA, SmartAgriHubs, PoliRural, and Sieusoil, among others, where he played a key role in technical management and innovation.
As a leader within BOSC, Michal guides the technical aspects of COMUNIDAD, ensuring seamless integration of geospatial technologies into project workflows. His extensive experience in GIS applications, spatial database design, and software development is instrumental in advancing COMUNIDAD’s mission.
On March 21–22, 2024, the COMUNIDAD consortium gathered in Madrid, Spain, for the project's official kick-off meeting. This milestone event brought together representatives from our eight project partners to set the course for the project's success, defining key action points and strategies for impactful collaboration. During the event, we captured valuable insights from each consortium member, offering their perspectives and role in the COMUNIDAD project.
