Visualization of Carbon Footprint

The interactive visualisation of carbon footprint based on Net Ecosystem Exchange (NEE) is designed as a tool to facilitate analysis of carbon dynamics across central Colombia. Through a dynamic dashboard, visual and control components are integrated to enable researchers, institutions, and decision-makers to explore information intuitively.

The system combines a main map panel that displays the geographic representation of NEE values in tons of CO₂ per hectare per year (tCO₂/ha/year) with a side control panel that offers filters and selection options to adjust the visualisation to user needs. This structure enables the identification of areas acting as carbon sinks, neutral zones, or carbon sources, supporting environmental planning, mitigation strategies, and climate policy development.
